Torah, Tefillah, Tzedakah

  • Dear Chabad Members,

We finished the 5781 Tishrei holidays on a spiritual high! Chabad would like to make this year one of growth for our shul community, both in our commitment to one another and to the principles of Torah, Tefillah, Tzedkah, and Mitzvos. Many families who were at shul for Simchas Torah took upon themselves to commit to improve in one of these areas in the upcoming year.

Chabad is offering programs (both virtual and socially-distanced, in person) in each of these areas and we ask that you let us know which you would like to join using the form below.

Please complete the form if you were in shul on Simchas Torah and already committed to an area of personal growth OR if you were not in shul and did not yet join in this project.

We are seeking coordinators for the programs below and will reach out to all those who express interest in each program about joining as a coordinator.

You are all valued members of Chabad's community, and if we rely upon each other for strength and encouragement during these challenging times we are confident that we can all see 5781 as a year of health, growth, and happiness.

Looking forward to seeing you in person or virtually very soon!

    Rabbi Berel and Chaya Wolvovsky

  • ** Chabad of Silver Spring launched the Covid Committee at Simchas Torah 5781 to raise funds for the shul’s operating costs and special costs related to Covid. We know that this will be a year unlike one that Chabad has ever experienced. There will be new needs in our community, new safety measures to be taken, and creative planning for programs and events. With the support of our wonderful shul community this will be a year of growth, both spiritual and physical.

We are asking that members of our community who are able to do so, commit to a donation of $1,800 or $3,600 in addition to their usual giving throughout the year. This pledged support strengthens Chabad’s financial footing for the year and helps us undertake any unexpected costs that may arise.

  • Mitzvos

  • We recoginize that every shul member is at a different place in their relationship with mitzvos and observance. We are listing some options below, but encourage you to consider any mitzvah that you might like to renew your commitment to this year. If you would like to discuss mitzvos and your personal connection, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Rabbi or Chaya.
