The program tells the story of Le Chambon, France. The residents of this small town decided that they would work together during World War II to provide safety and hiding places for Jewish children. Our guest speaker, Mr. Peter Feigl, was hidden in Le Chambon in 1943-44 and lives in Silver Spring. He has graciously agreed to come tell his story. What makes this program unique is that it includes a process in which families each use Lego blocks to build a section of the town of Le Chambon. The models are used in the storytelling so that families engage with the place and can immerse themselves in the town itself.
