Special Shabbat Afternoon Speaker Series
This is a special year… It is a time for gathering!
In ancient times, the Jewish people were commanded to gather every seven years. We were to assemble at the holy Temple Mount and hear the king read selected portions of the Torah. The purpose of this gathering was for us to re-experience the awesome inspiration that we felt at Mount Sinai.
This year would be such a time, referred to by the Torah as “Hakhel–Gathering.” Let us unite and experience Hakhel, right here in Silver Spring. Let us utilize this special opportunity to gather as one!
As we look forward to Shavuot – the Season of the Giving of our Torah – let us come together and find inspiration in the words of the Torah. Chabad of Silver Spring will be hosting distinguished rabbis for a unique Hakhel opportunity.
