Sale of Chametz 5783

  • Since it is prohibited to possess chametz on Pesach, any chametz left undisposed must be sold to a non-Jew. [Any chametz remaining in the possession of a Jew during Pesach may not be used, eaten, bought or sold even after Pesach.]  Therefore, all chametz that will not be eaten or burned before Pesach and all chametz utensils that will not be thoroughly cleaned by then should be stored away.

Chametz will be bought back at 9:00 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

We cannot accept any more chametz sales through our website. If you still need to sell you chametz, please visit Chabad.org.

Delegation of Power to Sell Chametz

I fully empower and permit Rabbi Berel Wolvovsky to act in my place and stead and on my behalf to sell all chametz possessed by me, knowingly or unknowingly as defined by the Torah and Rabbinic Law (e.g. chametz, possible chametz, and all kind of chametz mixtures). This power is in conformity with all Torah, Rabbinic and Civil laws.

  • It is customary to give tzedakah when selling one's chametz. While not required, a donation in support of Chabad's Pesach activities is greatly appreciated!
